Intertek teams in Côte d'Ivoire deliver green community impact

Environmentally friendly initiatives support local needs and educate the next generation

Intertek's Caleb Brett, AgriWorld and Government and Trade Services teams in Côte d'Ivoire came together for their annual Health, Safety and Environment Week in May.

Alongside activities focused on employee wellness, our teams turned their attention outward.

Their first stop was a local orphanage, where they donated food and non-food items – including household appliances, shoes and clothing. Many of the non-food items were donated by our colleagues, giving them a second life to reduce waste and support those in need.

Our teams also partnered with the Port-Bouët municipality, where we have a laboratory, to promote environmental responsibility across the community. Awareness sessions on recycling and waste management were delivered at a local school, teaching students the importance of sorting waste at the source. To reinforce this message, recycling bins were installed at various locations across the nearby town of Vridi in collaboration with the town hall.

The week culminated in an official handover ceremony for the recycling bins, attended by local officials including the Deputy Mayor. Our colleagues then returned to the local school to further highlight the importance of recycling and responsible waste disposal to students.
